Some of the best times of my life happened during those four (and a half) years I had in undergrad at Auburn. Not only did I scream my heart out at football games, get a degree, and fall in love with photography, but I also met some incredible people there. Senior sessions in Auburn are something that I know I will return to again and again – like a big homemade cheesecake, I just can’t stay away!
When I first met Justin, I didn’t know that I would one day marry his brother… but that is another story.
Justin finished his degree in Engineering, and is now working in construction in Atlanta. Y’all, this guy is hella smart and so fun to be around, and I am so excited to call him my brother-in-law. He’s one of those people who are just the life of the party – if you haven’t seen his dance moves when NSYNC comes on, you’re missing out.
Honestly, being back in Auburn in the years since I graduated can be a little disorienting. It has changed so much, and some of the places I most loved spending time at aren’t even around anymore – they’ve been torn down or built over. But growth and change can also be a good thing, which means I have the chance to re-learn and explore this town that I know so much each time I visit, and get to know and fall in love with Auburn all over again when I do. And, really, adapting to change is part of being human, even if it feels challenging at times.
At least, for now, the heart of Auburn is still the same, as are traditions like Toomer’s lemonade and rolling the oaks after a win against Bama.
Justin is on to great things, and I’m so excited to be part of his journey post-Auburn as well. War Eagle to that.
