COVID-19 couldn’t stop these two. When their wedding reception had to be postponed to next year, they decided to go ahead with a perfect intimate mini ceremony surrounded by their parents and siblings. Julie and Shane’s wedding was officiated by the bride’s uncle, and their sisters acted as bridesmaids.
The wedding was originally going to be held in Julie’s hometown in New Jersey, but when the pandemic interrupted their plans, their families drove down to Auburn from states all over. Auburn is special to J + S because it’s the place they first met, and after four years of dating it made sense to tie the knot there. With only their immediate families as witnesses, these two vowed a lifetime to each other at the Auburn University Chapel on July 11, 2020.
Congratulations, you two! Minimonies / micro weddings might be my new favorite thing. They are such a great alternative to postponing a year, and who says you can’t still have a big party later?
