There is something so incredibly special about maternity sessions, especially when the expectant couple are first-time parents. Carrie and Wesley’s session was no exception. The Arasmiths will soon be welcoming their first little baby into this world. Their maternity session at Garrard Landing Park just outside the perimeter of Atlanta, Georgia, was honestly just perfect.

Carrie and Wesley have been married now for four years, and they are expecting their first baby on their fourth wedding anniversary. They are two of my dearest friends, and it has been such an honor walking through this year with them. I cannot wait to meet Baby A and get some serious baby snuggles when she arrives in just a few days.

That pregnancy glow is everything.

Carrie was 34 weeks here when we did her maternity pictures. This is generally what I recommend for a maternnity session. If you wait until too late in your pregnancy, you risk being too uncomfortable or tired (especially if you are pregnant in mid-summer in the south, like this lady). You also risk baby making their entrance early! Maternity sessions are one of my favorite things to capture, because this is such a sweet, special, and exciting time for any couple who is expecting. It is so important to celebrate this time when it is just the two of you before becoming three (or more!). Pregnancy is such a precious blessing.

Carrie was absolutely stunning in her mommy-to-be pictures. She wore a long-sleeved sage maxi gown from Baltic Born (you can find this exact one here). Her burgundy dress was a Target find!
