2020 went out with much heartache, much like the majority of the year itself was spent. Over Christmas, my family had to say goodbye to one of our oldest family members, our horse, Judge, who had seen more years on this earth than even I. At 29 years old, Judge Roy Bean had a good life, siring many foals and living his last years out at pasture before developing cancer. I was glad to be able to do one last shoot with him and my sister to commemorate their bond before his passing.
For those of you who have ever had horses, you know that these gentle giants hold a big piece of our hearts, especially for girls who grow up on horseback in their dreams and with hoofbeats in their souls. Judge was kind and gentle, and captured many hearts throughout his life. Rest easy, boy.
