Prepare yourself for some serious cuteness. With Carson’s first birthday coming up, we did the sweetest cake smash for this fall mini! While dad couldn’t make it (first weekend of bow hunting season is a pretty big deal for this south Alabama fam), Amanda and Carson were the perfect duo for a mommy-and-me session. With little embroidered tools on his outfit, a blue polka dot cake made by Amanda’s grandmother, and the cutest candy corn diaper, he definitely stole the show.
Carson kept us laughing because he was way more interested in the leaves and pine straw than he was in anything else, even the tasty homemade birthday cake. He kept picking up pine straw to show us, and finding the perfect leaves to try and crunch in his mouth.
Amanda and her mom, Mrs. Belynda, brought along a couple of Carson’s favorite toys – including an Alabama football shaker. They were prepping to watch the game after the session, and Carson got to practice his technique with the shaker. While you’ll never catch me saying anything other than “War Eagle,” it made for some precious shots. I see a love of football in his future!
This is such a precious family. Amanda’s mom, Mrs. Belynda Brandt, is a literal goddess with a needle and thread, and makes the most gorgeous embroidery. I especially love her because she worked magic on my wedding dress alterations (and only took about five minutes!) I’m telling you – she’s a wizard. Check her out at Bebe’s Creations in Ozark, AL. Thanks, Mrs. B!
Happy (almost) birthday, Carson!
