Y’all, it’s almost here! Basically my favorite time of the year! What time is that, you might ask? Drum roll please…..

Christmas card season!! Not only does the impending start of the holiday season mean heading home to Alabama more often, and multitudes of opportunities to stuff myself with the best home cooking (yumm) but it also heralds the imminent arrival of all of those lovely holiday cards. Red, green, gold, a virtual smorgasbord of smiling faces and life updates displayed on every Southern fridge and wall.

I just love all the fall colors in this holiday mini session, plus Gibson and his dad together are absolutely the cutest. I mean, come on. Check them out for yourself.

I love family portraits because they are a time for families to take a break from the craziness of holiday prep and focus on what matters – each other. These portraits are a time to be silly and capture life with each other in the moment. I will never not recommend holiday sessions, from families with kids all grown up who only get together at holidays to couples with younger kids. Especially for couples with younger kids. Kids change and grow so fast, and to document them is to invest in memories that will last a lifetime. The way they adore their parents, interact with their siblings (yes, you may think your kids hate each other but I promise you they don’t)… I could go on and on.

You don’t need me to tell you how awesome and precious your kids are – you already know all the good, the bad, and the ugly about those little humans. But you do need me to help give you a keepsake you will cherish, one you can send out to grandma and grandpa and all of your friends, to show that your family is the cutest (because, yes, it totally is).
